World Twenty20: Pakistan one step away from the semi-finals

Pakistan completes hat-trick of victory in Group 12 Super 2 match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, defeating Afghanistan by 5 wickets after a thrilling contest. Pakistan completed the target of 148 runs in 19 overs thanks to the brilliant batting of Babar Azam and Asif Ali. No change was made in the Pakistan team while Afghanistan also fielded the same team against Scotland.

Afghanistan played aggressively in the last overs and scored 147 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Captain Mohammad Nabi and Gulbuddin stood out with 35, 35 runs, Afghanistan scored 54 runs in the last 5 overs without losing a wicket.

For Pakistan, Emad Wasim took two wickets, Shaheen, Hassan, Shadab and Haris took one wicket each. Batting first against Pakistan, Afghanistan’s first wicket fell at 7 runs, Hazratullah Zazai fell victim to Emad Wasim at zero.

The team’s score was only 13 runs that Mohammad Shehzad also left the team with 8 runs on the ball of Shaheen Shah.

Afghanistan’s third wicket fell at 33 runs, Haris Rauf sent Asghar Afghan to the pavilion for 10 runs. Afghanistan adopted an aggressive style but also lost their wickets. Hassan Ali dropped Afghanistan’s fourth wicket for 39 runs. Rehmanullah was dismissed for 10 runs.
